Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Tally on Cloud technology and support.

Tally on Cloud is a managed cloud workspace service where your genuine TallyPrime or Tally.ERP 9 software and data files are hosted on high-performance servers in our Tier-4 Noida NCR datacenter. You access your Tally screen remotely via a secure, encrypted Remote Desktop (RDP) or HTML5 browser session. You enjoy the exact same speed, shortcuts, and functions as desktop Tally, but can work from any Mac, PC, or mobile device anywhere in the world.

No. You can bring your own existing valid Tally license (TallyPrime Silver Single User or TallyPrime Gold Multi-User). Our engineering team assists you in releasing the license from your local computer and activating it on your secure cloud workspace. You retain complete ownership of your Tally license.

Yes! With TallyPrime Gold multi-user cloud plans, multiple staff members (e.g., billing operators, accountants, inventory managers, and CAs) can log in simultaneously and enter vouchers into the exact same company dataset with zero data conflicts, lockups, or file corruption.

We include pre-configured TSPrint virtual print drivers with all plans. When you press Alt+P in your cloud Tally session, the print dialog immediately routes the print job to your local USB laser printer, dot-matrix printer, thermal POS receipt printer, or barcode printer. You can also print directly to PDF or dispatch invoices via WhatsApp and email.

Because only screen keystrokes and display pixels are transmitted over our optimized RDP protocol (rather than your heavy multi-gigabyte data files), Tally on Cloud requires only about 512 Kbps to 1 Mbps per user. A standard office broadband connection or 4G/5G mobile hotspot delivers instantaneous, lag-free responsiveness.

Yes. Unlike local office computers that are vulnerable to ransomware payloads via infected email attachments or USB drives, our cloud environments feature containerized process isolation, blocked unauthorized executable passthrough, and automated daily snapshots replicated offsite to write-once immutable AWS S3 storage. Even if a local laptop gets infected, the cloud workspace remains untouched.

We perform automated dual backups every night at 12:00 AM. One copy is stored within our Tier-4 Noida NCR datacenter vault, and a second copy is synced to AWS S3 with a 30-day retention schedule. You retain 100% legal ownership of your data and can download a complete backup copy of your Tally company folder to your local computer at any time.

Under Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) guidelines, Indian companies using accounting software must maintain an immutable edit log of every transaction modification. TallyPrime Edit Log operates seamlessly on our cloud nodes, recording timestamps and user credentials. Our cloud backup systems preserve these audit logs continuously without any risk of tampering.

Yes. Our cloud environment fully supports compiled TDL (.tcp) files, custom invoice formats, e-Invoicing plugins, automated e-Way Bill generators, barcode modules, and bank reconciliation tools. Our engineering team assists you in installing and testing your TDLs during initial setup.

You can download the free Microsoft Remote Desktop client from the Mac App Store, or simply log in via any modern web browser (Safari, Chrome) using our HTML5 Web Client. Full keyboard shortcuts (F1 through F12, Alt, and Ctrl combos) are mapped accurately, providing a native Tally experience on Apple Silicon M1, M2, M3, and Intel Macs.

Our primary production cluster is hosted in a Tier-4 enterprise datacenter in Noida NCR, India, owned and managed by Mieux Technologies Pvt Ltd. The facility features N+N electrical generators, dual multi-carrier fiber transit, biometric mantraps, and 24x7 armed security, guaranteeing sub-5ms latency across North India.

Standard user-based cloud workspaces and free trials are provisioned in under 15 minutes. If you require assisted data migration from your local desktop, our engineers connect remotely and complete the full data transfer, license reactivation, and printer testing in approximately 30 minutes.
